Ride a Bike in Australia: Read by Marguerite
Many Backpacker and Youth Hostels in Australian towns, and also in other countries,
provide bicycles for people to use. Sometimes they charge a small fee, but mostly
they are free and you can use a bicycle for a ride.
Broome Hostel, in Northern Australia, has a whole line of bikes. People can choose from fancy bikes with
gears, and motorised bikes that cost a small fee, to old cheap bikes you can ride for free.
Tourists use the bikes to visit the beach, which is down the road, or to drive to
the shopping centre, which is a couple of kms away, or to visit tourist places like the crocodile
farm, the pearl factory, or the Dinosaurs footprint, or even just ride
along looking at the scenery.
