Fruit for Sale in the Market

  • Collect shopping brochures. Discuss how they attract and advertise to bring shoppers to their shops.
  • Create Listings of Local Shops where Students live or visit, and the shops they use.
  • Different Ways People Shop..Local, Phone, Online
  • Online Shopping..What items do people buy?

Students Research the concept of Shopping and Create a Brochure or E-Book detailing a specified item or items, eg. Shopping for a Camera, wedding, Trip.

Cookie Book : Create a Cookie Recipe Book
  • List the ingredients..quantities and price
  • Write the recipe
  • Create a class cookbook

Activities:
  • Create lists...fruit, vegetables, meats, clothes...whatever the students see in the market
  • List the different stalls and shops in a market
  • People at the market...talk about the people one sees at the market..stall holders, sellers, tourists, shoppers, taxi drivers, children, babies, police,...discuss why these people are here and what they have come to do...not everyone comes to a market to buy goods...
  • Write a poem or story about a market experience you have had
  • Take the students for a walk to a market..excursion... and then they will have something to talk about..
