Visit and Join English-To-Go for some great preplanned lessons

English-To-Go:

Lessons on a variety of topics at 4 levels from pre-intermediate to Advanced and also vocabulary and Gammar lessons.
A very useful site if you are short of planning materials.

English-To-Go website offers many preplanned lessons:

Interactive lessons too.

Download E-Books....solve the reading problem. This site has an extensive list of short stories, novel and drama that can be use with older students. All downloads are free and easy to download...and can be printed out as class copies or for the student.

One stop English gives many lesson plans, tests, ideas for teaching...I used this site almost exclusively when I started the teaching as I needed something to link onto for these older and more intelligent students.

A homepage for students with links to many different academies, museums, collections and research facilities as well as online learning.

Useful links for teachers:

Dave's ESL cafe..jobs, links and contacts as well as training. You can put an advertisement here yourself as well as seek contacts.

An excellent News site with video clips of the latest news which is excellent for comprehension and also discussions in the classroom. Great for areas where the daily newspaper is not available.

California Learning District Online..a fantastic site for those having students who have access to computers, as the entire lesson can be run online. The lessons are self paced, self correctable and the students can virtually work by themselves. If you only have one computer, use it with a small group, and have one student lead the group.

"The Australian" is a major newspaper and has jobs, advertisements and information about Australia which is useful for the Australian Culture classes.

'The West Australian' is the major paper in Western Australia, and gives you the story of what life is like in West Australia. Useful for comparing costs, prices of houses and cars and all sports especially football and horse racing. Saturday is the day for sporting coverage and a huge employment section. Also check the prices of travel and the travel guide which is on Thursday. The fashion pages are useful to see what is currently being worn and sold in Australia.

Music is another way of teaching reading. This site has all the songs and different types of music that you can download or listen to. The Music of a country tells you something about the people of a country and here you can search for popular groups, singers and bands.
